It’s normal to feel nervous in front of the camera, and it’s even more so when you’re expected to look seductive. Here are some tips to help you feel more relaxed for your boudoir photography session.
GET TO KNOW YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER WELL.
Get to know your photographer by carefully reviewing their websites, reading their most recent blog entries, and checking out their Instagram and Facebook profiles. Don’t be scared to ask questions; your photographer will be happy to answer your questions and help you feel more at ease.
LISTEN TO GOOD MUSIC BEFORE YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY
Bring your favorite playlist to help you relax during your session. We appreciate learning about your preferred musical genre during your initial appointment so that we can prepare music that you’ll like, or better yet, bring your own playlist!
Bring your phone, so you may listen to your favorite music while getting ready with our makeup artist for hair and makeup! You’ll be able to relax and feel at ease before the boudoir photography starts.
DEEP BREATHS WILL HELP YOU RELAX
Practice breathing deeply before your boudoir session. Inhale deeply through your nose, and exhale similarly. Repetition will help you feel better!

WEAR SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU FEEL CONFIDENT
The choice of clothing has a major role in boudoir photography. I adore the unique ways in which my customers express themselves through their outfits in the images. You always want to wear something that fits and makes you feel your best, whether it’s underwear or a leather jacket. Choose an outfit that accentuates your best features and practice wearing it around the house while no one is around so that you’ll be at ease on the day of your boudoir photo shoot.
SPEAK YOUR HEART OUT
Don’t be shy about speaking up. This is your photoshoot. We are here for you and want you to enjoy this experience, so feel free to ask questions, make suggestions, change the music, and more during your session. Don’t hesitate to ask for what you want.
PAMPER YOURSELF BEFORE YOUR BOUDOIR SHOOT
Give your body and yourself a little pampering. This will encourage you to feel more at ease in your own body and make you feel and look more camera-ready. Spend some time soaking in a wonderful bubble bath, getting your nails done, getting a massage, or going to the spa for a facial. You don’t need to be completely at ease when you enter your boudoir session; all you need to do is show up. By the time you leave, I guarantee your confidence will soar to new heights.
